**Sidekick Showcase ~ #24 ~ Nutcracker**

Sidekick Showcase (previously known as Sidekick Saturday) is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jaclyn at JC's Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn't have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight that fits in this week's type
• Share a picture (if possible) and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don't include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick
• Put your link in the Linky thing and comment

For the month of December, Jaclyn has given us a some creative license. We can pick any character that fits a Christmas-y theme...angel, elf, jolly, Grinch-y, etc. This week I may be stretching it a bit...Nutcracker ~ ne Ball-Buster ;)

My pick is
Harlow Reed, Nutcracking BFF of Alex Meyer
from L.B. Simmons' Mending Hearts Series

I chose Harlow because she is one kick-ass woman! Harlow epitomizes the adage 'full of piss and vinegar'. I said in my review of Running on Empty that every girl needs a BFF like Hawlow because she's always got Alex's back, will always tell her how she sees it, and loves Alex so much she'll do anything for her! Including cracking a few nuts! ;)

"What are we calling this morning's hair creation? This has got to be one of the worst hair days you've had in the last, um, what" Thirty days?" Harlow, Running on Empty

"I'm just wondering if you would like to have a chance to go on the offensive before I start my assessment of the situation," Harlow states matter-of-factly." Harlow, Running on Empty

"I called you because she wasn't getting any better and I thought maybe you could get through to her. But if I knew this was going to happen, I would have dropped all communication with you a long time ago. Bastard!" Harlow, Running on Empty

  1. I have yet to meet this Harlow person but I do love the name and if you characterize her as Piss on Vinegar, then I'm sure she and I will get along.

    Happy weekend, lady!
