**Think Out Loud #12 ~ Is It Just Me?**

I'm gonna let y'all in on a little quirk about me. I hoard B&N gift cards. Yep, I have the hardest time letting go of them. I have so, so many books on my wish list (it's really embarrassing) but I go to the book store and then think "but if I buy this, I'll only have $__ left" and so I leave without purchasing that book I've wanted for a year! I don't have this problem with Amazon gift cards because I just load them on my account and one-click til my finger hurts. But I save my B&N gift cards for physical books and...is it just me?? Does anyone else hoard gift cards? To anywhere??

  1. I'll happily fork over my gift cards for any place but Bunnings which is a chain of household hardware stores. I wanted to make my voucher last so I put down a pair of secateurs ($2.50) because I didn't need to do any pruning for a month. It is tragic.

  3. You need to bring your kids in with you and your B&N gift cards. They will tell you that you deserve to get that book you've wanted for a year. Or they might tease you about your insane TBR shelves (physical and cyber), but then maybe you'll give them the stink eye and buy the book because they're all stinkers. Either way, you see the end result is you buying the book! Buy the book, Brandee. hehe

Uh, but all that cheering/bossing aside, I totally get the hoarding. You don't want it to be gone or dwindled to almost nothing. The world of possible purchases feels good.

Oh, and one-clicking until your finger hurts, huh? hehe

    1. You're so right, Robyn! Berk & Jax would cheer me on...Sky would remind me of all I have yet to read. ;) But it is the world of possibilities that keeps me from spending it...there are just so many books! *haha*

And yes, I do have a habit of one-clicking til my clicker finger is sore. ;)

  4. Too funny, Brandee! I don't think I hold on to gift cards too long. Sometimes I keep them to places if i don't visit them very often and use them to buy other people Christmas gifts and such, but Amazon gift cards disappear very quickly and Wal-Mart or any restaurant ones I use up pretty fast as well. Really, the first person that had the idea of the gift card was a genius. I think it's a cute quirk that you have though ;) Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

    1. LOL I'm terrible with B&N gift cards, Jaclyn. What' worse? I work there and get a discount! *haha* Sky has the same quirk...only it extends to ALL gift cards. :) Thanks for dropping in, dear! :)

  5. LOL You're too funny. I love paperbacks and never bought myself giftcards to hold myself back for buying them. This might be a great way to solve my book buying problem. ;)

    1. If only, Kipha! My physical TBR shelf is jammed packed! ;) Perhaps that's one reason I'm refraining...hmm...

    1. I wonder what the difference is between ebooks and physical books, Andrea? I seriously one-click to my heart's content with Amazon gc's...but because I save my B&N for physical books...I just can't seem to let it go. :)
