#ShelfLove ~ Why I Deserve *This* Book

This month, the discussion topic is a doozy for me. Y'all know I've in no way stopped acquiring books. Between freebies and using a small amount of my monthly book budget, I've added just a few books to my digital shelves. And now, I have to convince y'all that I deserve the books I've recently acquired?!? Well, here goes nothing... bwahahahaha

As y'all know, I was at RT last week. I brought home over 130 books! And y'all know I deserved each and every one of them! ;) Why, you ask? Well, I just couldn't pass up free books by authors that I adore...like Colleen Hoover, Rachel Vincent, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Brenda Novak, to name a few. And then there were books by authors I've always wanted to read, such as Jennifer Probst, Kahlen Aymes, and Rachel Hawthorne...I couldn't miss out on getting those! And then there are those authors I discovered while at RT, like Molly O'Keefe, Kris Calvert, and BJ Daniels. I couldn't hurt their feelings by passing up their books, right? I mean, I might have found a new favorite author and I wouldn't know it if I didn't pick up their book. So really, I deserved this book...and that book...oh, and this book, too. ;)

Seriously though, nothing...and I do mean nothing, makes me want to get serious about that no book buying ban than looking at all these books against the backdrop of my overstuffed bookshelves. My issue now...which should I read first?!?

  1. LOL Brandee!! You got even more books at RT than I did! Well done ;) And of course you deserve every single one of those books, you and I both know that!! And that pic is pretty amazing, I'm gonna show it to Mr. Lex so he can see that I was being better at not bringing home too many books than you were ;)
I hope you're having a fantastic weekend my dear!! *BIG HUGS*

  2. Hold on... RT had books given away for FREE?? well, that doesn't count - you didn't *buy* it, it doesn't technically break the "no book buying" challenge ;) But damn, 130 books? That's.. wow! I would have loved to go but responsibilities and all that.

  3. Yep...FREE! Technically you're right, they don't go against the ban (although I *did* purchase 4) but still... You know what my shelves look like, Julie. Now I need to get serious and READ! ;) I hope you'll be able to go to RT some day. It was a lot of fun. And I got to see quite a few of my fav YA authors...like Richelle Mead. ;)

  4. But if you add up your digital freebies, did you get about the same number? You go ahead and show Mr. Lex though...make him *think* you were being better. ;)
My weekend has been good so far. It's raining still but we did see the sun a few times today. I hope you're enjoying being home and back in your time zone. ;) Although I really do wish we were sitting around together, chatting, and sipping on a drink! ;) **BIG HUGS**

  5. Nope, even with my digital books I think you beat me... your suitcases must have been very, very heavy ;)
My weekend is filled with writing papers for Uni... nothing like leaving it until the very las moment, right? Two are due tomorrow, and the third on Tuesday *sighs* I'm almost all finished, though.

  7. Holy smokes, girl! 130 books?! How did you get them all home? Do you live near RT or did you have to ship them?
