**My Night of NA Spicy Romance Giveaway**
I visited one of my favorite places this evening - The Tatttered Cover Bookstore. But this evening was special. This evening, I had the pleasure of spending some time with some lovely ladies. Who, you ask? Well, see for yourself. :)
Okay, so I took pictures with my iPhone, and they're not the greatest. Or maybe it's just me. :) Here are a few close-ups.
If you don't recognize them (or my photos are just terrible), that's Jennifer L. Armentrout, Cora Carmack, Lisa Desrochers, and Sophie Jordan! Yep, my evening was quite spicy! How else can you describe an evening spent with these lovely and very talented ladies?!? They were launching/introducing their latest books, Wait for Me, Finding It, A Little Too Far, and Foreplay. We talked about what makes the perfect hero and heroine, and favorite book boyfriends. I learned that writing about what you know or have experienced has some drawbacks...namely when a professor puts two and two together about a real situation when he reads about a fictional situation. (Cora) Lisa told us she writes her sex scenes first because those scenes reveal things about characters that might not show up in other situations, which helps in character development. Jennifer told us that although she loves reading alpha males, she'd smack her husband upside the head if he said things like some of her heroes do. (Actually, all these ladies revealed they love reading alphas but not so much living with them.) And if you ever meet Sophie Jordan, ask her about the rooster...
I had sooo much fun! These ladies are awesome-sauce! AND I have some swag to share. :) ONE lucky commenter will win a little swag. I'll pick a winner, randomly, Thursday morning. (I'll announce the winner by noon, MDT) Just leave a comment telling me some of your favorite book boyfriends. ;)
How awesome! Several of my friends were at this event, and it seems you all had a great time!
ReplyDelete(you don't have to enter me into the giveaway)
It was great, Andrea! Very intimate and the ladies were awesome! :)
DeleteWhat a great talk! I can't imagine writing the love scenes first. You know I'm crazy about Adrian from VA and Bloodlines. Michael from Morgaville would have me stupidly staring. Adam and Sam from Mercy Thompson, oh Bones' vamp friends because I haven't read their hook up novels yet. I'm a big fan of Eric from my books. I think he should get his own series.
ReplyDeleteI know, right?!? But her reasoning made total sense. :) You've compiled quite the list of book boyfriends, Robyn. And I'm afraid there might be a smackdown as I have some of the same guys on my list! ;) BTW, I love it that Eric made your list. :)
DeleteI love these authors! I am so jealous. I am too far away to meet anyone. I loved Jackson from finding it by Cora Carmack.great boyfriend material. thanks for the giveaway
