My name is James Fenici and I’m as dirty as they come. But then one day I saw her. And every monster I thought I was. Every fact I thought I knew. Every dirty promise I ever turned down came back to slap me in the face.

“I watched you all morning as you did your circuit. Pull-ups hanging off the railing of the pier. Running the steps that lead to the beach exactly fifty times. Sit-ups lying on the sand. And then the final

cooldown walk out to the end of the pier just before dawn. And the entire time, your eyes were sweeping the area. Looking for people.”

“I never saw you,” I say, the panic back again.

“No, I’m not someone who likes to be seen, Harper. I’m someone who likes to do the seeing. But I figured,” he continues, changing the subject back to me, “you were just being careful. Maybe a bit
paranoid. Afraid of getting mugged by a crazy homeless person looking for drugs. Typical shit, Harper.”

The way he says my name, God. Why is this man making me feel like this?

“So I was curious. Just an ordinary kind of curious. The kind of curious I feel when I see an unusual bug. But diving off a pier—great form by the way, did you take diving in school?” He doesn’t wait for my answer. “Diving off a pier, to avoid telling me your name? Now that... Harper, that shit is downright intriguing.”

“It is?”

“Yes.” His lips touch my ear this time. His tongue slides in and flicks against my skin. I hunch my shoulders and let out a moan. “I still want the dirty fuck. But not right now.”

“Oh God,” I whimper. “Just say it already, what do you want with me?”

He pulls away. His hand comes back to my throat, but it doesn’t rest there. No. His fingertips are prodding me to lift my head up and meet his gaze head on.

I obey. It’s I’m like stuck in a trance. He’s entranced me.

“I want to know you.”

And then his mouth is on mine, his tongue probing, pushing for entrance. His hand goes to that spot between my legs where it throbs wildly as he creates friction, calling forth more wetness. His other hand goes to my breast, the nipple hard and bunched from the cold water, my skin tingling with anticipation, fear, and want.

He tastes like salt and he kisses like the sea. Like a dangerous, killing, unforgiving sea that can do whatever it wants with my body. Toss me, twirl me, take me under and steal the breath right out of me. Make me powerless.

And that’s exactly how I feel.

I am in love with this cover!!! Of course, I love anything Ms. Huss does. What do y'all think? I can't wait to get my hands on this one!

Come Back (Dirty,  Dark, And Deadly #2)
by JA Huss
Genre: Erotic Suspense
Release Date: July 21, 2014

Synopsis
“Secrets keep the darkness alive,” Harper tells me. But that’s not how I see it at all. Secrets keep me alive. The truth is overrated. Honesty is never the best policy. And everything you know absolutely can hurt you. The contracts I fulfill are just agreements. Death is a business deal. Secrets are currency in my world. I pay my debts with them. I feed on them. They ground me in the present and they promise me a future. I’ve lived a life filled with secrets for so long—I forgot what it’s like to... feel.

Until I saw Harper. Until I saw how beautiful she’s become. How perfect, and pure, and innocent of all the ugly that goes on around her. And that dirty promise I refused the night her father turned me into a killer twelve years ago is suddenly on the table again.

Harper can be mine. No—Harper will be mine. All I have to do is
complete the mission.

Death is a business deal.

And I just shook his hand.

“I think I know why he didn’t kill Merc.”

“Why?” Harper asks quickly, turning around to see Sasha.

“Because Merc is gonna kill him.”

“That’s fucking it!” I swerve the Hummer over to the almost non-existent shoulder, and slam on the breaks. “You shut your fucking mouth, kid! Or I swear to fucking God, I’ll—”

“You’ll what?” Harper asks, her eyebrows raised up to the ceiling. “She’s got legitimate questions, James. And to be honest, I’m interested in the answers. Who was the guy who took her? And why was he sending me messages?”

“Harper, use your fucking brain. Why do you think he was sending you messages?”

“Why? If he knew where to find me, then why didn’t he just take me? Why play this game? I’m sure my father has a reward out. Or a hit.”

“Oh, is that where we’re at again? You think I’m here to kill you? Did you know the smurf is an assassin too? Or did you not put that two plus two together yet?”

“Don’t insult me, Tet. I figured that out, thanks.”

“Then maybe you’re her target and not mine? How about that?”

“So why hasn’t she killed me?”

“I haven’t killed you either, but you still think that’s my job. And while we’re all playing let’s confess to shit we’re not doing, what’s your job, Harper? Who the fuck are you and your brother after?”

“Oh, snap!” Sasha says loudly.

“Shut up!” Harp and I yell together.

“She’s playing us, you do realize that, right? I mean, you can see that now, right? She’s egging us on, making us fight.”

“I’m just trying to tell you something,” Sasha squeals. “Something you don’t know but I do. And you know what? Forget it. You don’t deserve my help if you’re gonna treat me like a traitor! I was kidnapped for her!” She shoves Harper on the shoulder and Harp reacts and slaps her hand off, turning around like she’s gonna dive back there and start a real fight.

“Sit back, Harper.” I growl as I yank her by the arm and push her against the door. I pull back onto the road before one of these girls decides to get out of the car. I am not in the mood to chase them down in this heat.

“I don’t want to travel with you anymore,” Harper says as she crosses her arms and turns her back to me. “I’m leaving when we get back to civilization.”

“I’m leaving too. I’d rather die than go back to Merc. I’ll find Ford on my own.”

Called that one.

**Blog Tour Review & Giveaway ~ His Wounded Light ~ Christine Brae**

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Christine Brae's His Wounded Light. This is the sequel to The Light in the Wound, and if you missed me review of it, you can click here to read it. My stop includes information about the book, trailers, an excerpt, my review, and a giveaway.

His Wounded Light by Christine Brae
The Light in the Wound #2
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: December 8, 2013

Synopsis
The perfect life.
The perfect marriage.
The jilted lover.
Their worlds collide.

Fate intervenes twelve years later and their paths intersect once again. All three will question whether the heart is truly capable of dividing and being divided; each will decide whether it matters who you loved first or who you love last.

Together they will learn that in the end, there can always only be one.

 **TRAILERS**

**I'm apologizing in advance for the vagueness in my review. There are certain events that I don't want to mention in order to prevent spoiling anything.**

Christine Brae delivered another powerfully emotional and gripping story. I was immersed, once again, in the highs and lows of Isa and Alex's relationship. This love story wasn't always pretty, but their ending was gratifying.

You know that expression about not being able to fully love someone without first loving yourself? Isa became intimately familiar with that expression over the course of the story. After certain events put a wall up between she and Alex, she has to learn how to forgive herself and how to live her life for herself. She makes some mistakes along with way but eventually comes to a place where she is stronger than she's ever been.

Alex...oh, Alex. I wanted to strangle him a few times. Yes, I understood his reasoning for his actions but it didn't stop me from being angry at him. The events he and Isa had to endure and the heartache it all caused had tears streaming down my face. It was very satisfying to see Alex mature a little more and realize what was most important in his life.

As for Jesse Cain...well, I was never on his team. However, he endeared himself to me in His Wounded Light. He has changed and matured over the past 12 years. He showed it in his ability to be present for Isa when she needed him and not pushing for more than she could give.

His Wounded Light is a love story. And as Isa points out:
"Love will always persevere no matter what happens in your life, so once you have it, nurture it and never let it go. ...You can lose yourself a million time over, but your heart will always know who you are. In every wound and place of emptiness, love provides a light that guides you through the darkness. It relentlessly seeks you out and stops at nothing to find you. Love always finds you. And when it does, it will bring you home."
Isa, Alex and Jesse have been through a lot together over the years...some happy times, some sad times. I was thoroughly satisfied with where they each ended up. His Wounded Light was heartbreaking yet ultimately uplifting conclusion to these three once wounded, now healed souls.

“Good evening, everyone. So sorry we're late.”

I turn my head in the direction of her eyes.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I mutter under my breath.

It's Jesse Cain. I glare at Betty, and she responds by shrugging her shoulders. I remember that she said she no longer bothers with the seating arrangements. I’m left with no choice but to get up from my chair and shake his hand.

“Cain, how are you?” I ask rather hypocritically. I can’t even stand to be in the same country as him, let alone share a table with this guy. One at which he sits so close to my wife, no less.

“Ailey,” he says coolly. “This is my fiancée, Rose.”

I offer my hand to her and she shakes it warmly. She's very pretty, almost beautiful, but certainly not Isabel stunning, at least to me. She’s quite voluptuous and her dress leaves little to the imagination. I guess she has to compete for his attention, given that he is one of the most eligible bachelors in the country. He’s clearly a crowd drawer at fundraising events like these. I’ll never know why, since he’s such an arrogant ass. Cain pulls her seat out for her and remains standing. Sure enough, he walks over to Betty and Isa.

“Betts.” He gives her a hug and offers his hand to Leigh, who shakes it disinterestedly.

Okay, here it comes.

Wait. No. She’s getting up. Why is she getting up?

He leans down to give her a hug. “Hi, Isa. Nice to see you.”

She embraces him a little too warmly. The smile on her face as she says his name slays me.

“Hi, Jess.”

Jess?

As soon as Cain takes a seat next to me, I lean over and whisper in her ear. “It's Jess-e. There's an E at the end.”

She responds by taking my hand, slipping it through the slit of her dress and resting it on her thigh. If I stretch my finger out far enough, I’ll be able to touch that part of her that might get her attention. Out of the blue, I have the urge to take the napkin on her lap and tie it around her neck to cover up her chest. Sort of like a bib in a seafood restaurant.

“He looks at you all googly-eyed like that one more time and I'm going to poke his fucking eyes out,” I whisper, punctuating my words with light squeezes of her thigh.

She thinks I'm kidding so she laughs.

Christine Brae is a full time career woman who thought she could write a book about her life and then run away as far as possible from it. She never imagined that her words would touch the hearts of so many women with the same story to tell. This is her second and final book in the Light in the Wound series. Her third book is scheduled to come out in late 2014.

When not listening to the voices in her head or spending late nights at the office, Christine can be seen shopping for shoes and purses, running a half marathon or spending time with her husband and three children in Chicago.

**Cover Reveal & Giveaway ~ Beautifully Done ~ Riley Mackenzie**

BD COVER

Title: Beautifully Done (Beautifully Awake #2)
Authors: Riley Mackenzie
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Expected Release Date: June 2014

Synopsis
Diagnosis: Borrowed time
Treatment: Trust

Prognosis: Beautifully Done

Asher Craig drives fast, flies high, and screws hard. But make no mistake, he’s a gentleman.

He learned way too young that we’re all on borrowed time. Fair or unfair, you only get one ride. He vows to live for the moment because it’s the only time he owns. The past is beyond his control and the future may not exist. With his only loyalties being his family, he thrives for that edge where plunging over is always in the realm of possibility.

When a beautiful familiar face tilts his axis, he re-examines everything and realizes that second chances are overrated and a lifetime of firsts are irreplaceable. In the end, it’s not her medical degree but his trust that needs to prove that the ride together is worth it ... until it’s Beautifully Done.

***Author's note*** This can be read as a stand alone novel, however, it does contain spoilers from Beautifully Awake. We recommend reading Chase and Lili's story first.

**Excerpt**

Pain pierced my shin and I jerked back. “What the hell was that for?” I bitched at the half pint spit-fire, sporting auburn highlights this week. Sierra changed her hair color as often as her shoes. And tonight she was in some pointy fucking boots.

“You have a freakin’ plane? For real? You never told me you had a plane! Lil, did you know green giant had his own private plane. And he flies it?”

“Hold up, Green giant?” I questioned trying to get a word in edgewise. These two women spoke their own estrogen dialect. It could get out of control especially when Sierra went off on a tangent. And there it was, with both hands in the air, her drink--which I assumed was a margarita--splashed down
the front of her light grey sweater dress. She didn’t flinch. Sam, on the other hand, jumped to pat the excess liquid off her c cups.

Cant. Make. This. Shit. Up.

Chase buried his head in his wife’s shoulder to hide his laughter, Lil bit her fingernail, and Dodd feigned a coughing fit.

In her oblivion, Sierra manually removed the red-headed beauty’s hand from her chest. “I’m good, no really. Besides, it’s all padding, babe. Breastfeeding sucks the life from the girls.” If Dodd shook his head one more time he was in serious jeopardy of herniating a neck disc.

About the Authors
Yep. That's an “s.” There are two of us! We’re East coast girls separated by Long Island Sound who met in Physician Assistant School and have been besties ever since. We can safely say that thirteen miles of water does not get in the way because we talk or text, no exaggeration, at least 150 times a day. No, really, we do—about everything and nothing. Shockingly, we never (we mean never) run out of things to say. Umm, ever. We definitely laugh A LOT and we’re a tad sarcastic. And if we’re being totally honest, one or two people might have, on occasion, used our names and ‘dramatic’ in the same sentence. But it’s hard to trust the sources since they married us.

It only took twelve years, two husbands, five kids, two dogs, and a two-week vacation in Cape Cod later to decide the romance world needed a splash of medicine. Write what you know. So you can easily find us at 4 o'clock on Bank Street beach with a glass of cold Prosecco brainstorming. And guaranteed if we bump into you, literally, it’s only because our iPhones are glued to our hands (totally out of our control) either writing or editing our next novel (and yes, it is possible to do from your iPhone, we mastered it … damn those straight quotations).

When we are not working on our book or reading the latest angsty romance on our kindles, you basically name it and we have it going on. Soccer, lacrosse, golf, swimming, dance, gymnastics, football, chess, baseball, basketball, skiing, ice skating, school, homework, and more school.

Oh yeah, did we forget to mention our careers in medicine?

Needless to say, we realized fast that something had to go, so we opted for sleep. It’s completely overrated (yet so AMAZING) and delirium makes everything funnier. Good thing we share a brain and can pretty much complete each other’s sentences (definitely weird, we know), otherwise it might have taken us two years to write Beautifully Awake rather than one.

So that’s our story, who we are … just add AUTHORS to the list!
