#COYER Big Summer Birthday Bash Sign-up Post

Y'all, Berls & Michelle are celebrating FIVE YEARS of #COYER! Can you believe it?!? Y'all know #COYER is one of my favorite challenges because we *ALL* need to clean off our ereaders... amiright?!? And it's such a fun and interactive challenge! Berls & Michelle have come up so much goody-goodness for this celebratory version. I've listed the basics below and a little information on the other elements of the challenge as they apply to me. If you're interested in joining me - and why wouldn't you be?? - can click the graphic above (or here) to check out the FULL details. Here are the basics:

  • The challenge begins June 9th at 12 a.m. EDT and ends August 31st at 11:59 p.m. EDT
  • You must create a sign-up post anytime between now and June 9th on blog, Goodreads, Facebook, Google+, etc. Be sure to indicate your cleanup goal and don't forget to link your sign-up post to the linky here.
  • It's Summer and you know what that means...anything goes! You can read books in any format, purchased at any price as long as you legally obtained it. Library? Yep! Borrowed? Yep! KU? Yep! $500? Yep (but are you crazy?)!
  • Link your reviews to the linky that will be provided on the Kick-off Post.
  • There will be two grand prize winners - $10 gift card - one for the linky review list, and one for the Birthday Bash goodies.
Sounds fun, yeah? Here's where it gets even more fun! Berls & Michelle came up with Birthday Bash Goodies for each COYER they've hosted thus far. Again, for ALL the details, click the graphic above but here's the Goodies I'll be partaking in.

Goody #1 in Honor of COYER #1: Declare Your Cleaning Goal:
  • Light Clean - 1-10 books
  • Spring Clean - 10-20 books
  • Deep Clean - 20+ books
I'm going for the Deep Clean! =)

  • Scary Stories by the Campfire!: Read about ghosts, goblins, and any other horror/thriller that would make for a scary campfire tale! Read-a-thon runs Sunday August 5th 12am EST to Saturday August 11th 11:59pm EST
  • Short and Sweet!: Fill your final days not with Novels but with Novellas! Read-a-thon runs Sunday August 26th 12am EST to Friday August 31st 11:59pm EST

Goody #4 in Honor of COYER #4: Mini-Challenges
Participate in 1 or ALL the mini-challenges hosted by COYER participants to get an entry in the goody bag. Get an extra entry for hosting a mini-challenge.

These are always fun so if I have time I'll participate. And Lexxie and I are going to host one as well!

Goody #5 in Honor of COYER #5: Scavenger Hunt
COYER #5 was a summer scavenger hunt and I really had fun with it. So participating in the mini-scavenger hunt Sunday August 12th 12am EST to Sunday August 25th 11:59pm EST earns you an entry in the goody back. And seeing as I still have the list around with books chosen for the different categories, I'm in for this goody!

Goody #6 in Honor of COYER #6: Back to Basics
All you have to do to earn an entry in the goody bag for this one is participate in the Social Media games on Facebook, the Instagram Challenge, and the Twitter parties. I'm good with that. ;)

Goody #7 in Honor of COYER #7: Summer Vacation BINGO
Fill in 1 or all the BINGO cards over the entire summer for one point per board in the goody bag.

Goody #8 in Honor of COYER #8: Survive Hurricane Berls
COYER #8 was Winter Storm but since this is summertime, gear up for a hurricane! Hurricane Berls hits Wednesday July 25th thru Saturday July 28th. For 1 point per book, read only ebooks, purchased for $1 or less (ARCs are okay) prior to June 9th.

Goody #9 in Honor of COYER #9: The One with the Lists
COYER 9 was the Summer Reading List. In honor of that list, we're making a list again. :) Make a list of 15 books and read 10 of them for a point in the goody bag.

My List:
Inescapable by Amy Bartol
The Air He Breathes by Brittainy Cherry
We Were Here by Daisy Prescott
A Hidden Fire by Elizabeth Hunter
This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas
Driven by K. Bromberg
Strings by Kendall Grey
Arsen by Mia Asher
Eversea by Natasha Boyd
Unbreakable by Rebecca Shea
Surviving Raine by Shay Savage
Savage by SL Scott
Rescuing Raine by Susan Stoker
White Trash Beautiful by Teresa Mummert
The Weight of Life by Whitney Barbetti

Goody #10 in Honor of COYER #10: Summer Switch
The most recent COYER was Winter Switch and it was a lot of fun! Summer Switch runs from Sunday June 24th to Saturday July 14th for up to 3 points in the Goody Bag Giveaway. Pick your order for the Strict, the List, and the Twist...one per week...June 24th to June 30th, July 1st to July 7th, and July 8th to July 14th.

The Strict:
  1. Every book you read must be an ebook or audiobook.
  2. Every book must be either free or less than $5.
  3. No library books, borrowed books, or KU books.

The List:
  1. Make a list of up to 15 books (since it's legal, I'm using the same list from Goody #9)
  2. Every book on the list must be in your possession BEFORE you put them on the list. Books on the list can be any format, any price, obtained in any LEGAL way...so that means library books, KU, borrowed, etc.

The Twist:
  1. You can read ANY book. ANY price. Obtained any LEGAL way.
  2. The Twist is, you have to stick to one format. If you choose audiobooks, then you can only read audiobooks during whichever phase you assign the Twist to. Same goes for ebooks.

So the only Goody I'm skipping is #2.
Y'all, this COYER might be the best one yet! I hope y'all will join in the fun!!

My TBR List *March* ~ Polls Are Open!

MyTBRList

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Michelle @Because Reading. I think it's a fabulous idea because it gets y'all in the game and it helps me knock off some of the many, many books on my TBR list. You're more than welcome to join in the fun! I've included the basic rules below but you can click on the graphic above to hop over to Michelle's site where you can find all the details.

Here's how it works:
On the first Saturday of each month, I will make a post with three books from my TBR List (these books can be already on your ereader or bookshelf OR books you might want to purchase) and add your link on the linky that will be provided on Michelle's post. Y'ALL will help me choose which book I will read next. The following Saturday, I will announce which book won. Then the last Saturday of the month, I'll post my review.

Fun, right?!?

***

In 2018, I'm once again working at catching up on series and y'all get to decide which series I'm going to catch up on each month! :D

This month y'all are helping me decide which book *absolutely* will be read from my list for the Take Control of Your TBR Challenge. To be fair (to the books?) I picked one from each of the the categories: ebook, physical, and audio.

Your Choices Are:

Consolation (Salvation, #3)
Consolation
 Consolation Duet #1, Salvation #3

Synopsis
Liam wasn't supposed to be my happily ever after.
He wasn't even on my radar.
He was my husband's best friend - forbidden.

But my husband is dead and I'm alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.

One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he's just the consolation prize.

End of Days (Penryn & the End of Days, #3)End of Days
Penryn and the End of Days #3

Synopsis

After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. They're both desperate to find a doctor who can reverse the twisted changes inflicted by the angels on Raffe and Penryn's sister. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe's past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all.

When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?

Under Her Skin
Under Her Skin
Blank Canvas #1

Synopsis
Ivan thought the world was through giving him second chances. Who'd want a rough ex-con with a savior complex and a bad habit of bringing home helpless strays? Everyone in Blackwood, Virginia, knew he wasn't good enough for the fine things in life; they knew he was too damaged to save. He just needed to keep his head down, work himself to the bone, and pretend he was content with the lot he was given. Until she came into his life. Until she changed everything. Until he realized he would do anything, fight anyone, tear the world apart if it meant saving her.

Okay, now vote! And thanks! :D

*Take Control of Your TBR Pile Challenge Goal Post*

Take Control 2018 Button

I'm once again joining in the fun that is the Take Control of your TBR Challenge hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Since the basic rule is to read books put on your TBR shelf prior to March 1, 2018, it's a great way to get several books *off* my TBR shelf!

The challenge runs the month of March. You can find the rules by clicking on the button above.

As for my goals...well, I typically read/listen to 12 books a month so I'm scared to aim any higher than that. I know, I know...it's a challenge. Okay...you twisted my arm. *wink* I'll aim for 15 books. Eeep!! This really will be a challenge for me, y'all! But I can do 5 books per category - ebook, physical book, and audiobook.

Here's what I'm hoping to read/listen to in March:

Ebook:
Beautifully Done (Beautifully Awake, #2)Consolation (Salvation, #3)Unmaking Marchant (Love Inc., #3)Badd Motherf*cker (Badd Brothers, #1)Past Imperfect (Perfect, #2)

Physical Book:

2017 End-of-Year Challenge Updates ~ All My 2018 Challenge Sign Ups

I dedicated these last two months of 2017 to finishing up series I was behind in by 1 or 2 books - #TravelingtotheTerminus

I managed to complete the following series:

Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day
Games Series by Nyrae Dawn
New Camelot Series by Sierra Simone
Tempest Series by Michelle Mankin

I almost completed these series:
The Mageri Series by Dannika Dark
Blackcreek Series by Riley Hart
Pushing the Limits Series by Katie McGarry

That's not very many considering the list is like 42 series long but I did a re-read of the first two in Day's Crossfire series so that put me behind. At any rate, I'll be working at this goal again in 2018.

***2017 Challenges End-of-Year Updates***

#2017 Bookish Resolutions
Y'all can click here for a list of my resolutions for 2017 but in the end, I still managed to accomplish some and fail at others. Again, I looked at these resolutions as goals which means I didn't really fail. *grins* Laura and Michelle are hosting this challenge again in 2018 but I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to participate...

#2017HW Report Card for Quarter One
My goal was to read 1 book a month. Again, I read 3 books in the first and second quarters of 2017 so that means I got A's!!! However, I received an F in the third and fourth quarters because I only read ONE single book from my list read. Hopefully next year will go better. :)

#2017NewRelease - 46 books
I totally hit my goal of New Release Pro this year - 31-60 books - so I'm happy with that. Lexxie is once again hosting the New Release Challenge and I plan to participate.

#Audiobook Challenge - 26 listens
I didn't quite make my goal of 30 books but I'm proud of what I accomplished. I plan to join in this challenge again in 2018.

#authorluv - 1 book
Yep, kinda failed at showing CoHo some love. But I *DO* love her so and I plan to get more read in 2018.

#BloggerShame - 10 books
I failed to reach my goal of 20 books but 10 is better than none so I'm considering that a win. :) I'll work at it more in 2018.

Read All the Books - 11 books
I still have quite a bit of Sabrina Jeffries' backlist to tackle but I'll get there. This is an ongoing challenge so I'll be working at it again in 2018.

#ShelfLove - 85 books
I *nailed* this challenge goal of 51+ books! Woohoo! I might be most proud of having made this goal because that was my aim - to read more of the books I own! Even though the lovely ladies at Chapter Break and Second Run Reviews aren't hosting this challenge in 2018, I plan to continue showing my shelves lots of love.

***CHALLENGES FOR 2018***

I've decided to cut down on the number of challenges I'm doing in 2018. I'm having issues keeping up with all of them all! ;)

2018 Audiobook

I'm once again participating in the Audiobook Challenge hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Hot Listens. My goal for 2018 is Binge Listener or 20-30 books. :)

I'm once again joining in the Blogger Shame Challenge hosted by Herding Cats & Burning Soup. (click the button for all the details) I really am working at reading all those ARCs I requested from Netgalley. *winks* I'm aiming to read 20 books. That ought to help my rating. :)

2018 New Release Challenge logo

I'm once again participating in the New Release Challenge hosted by Lexxie @(un)ConventionalBookViews. You can click the button above for all the details but I'm challenging myself to New Release Pro level again in 2018 because I *still* want to read books I already own. :) So that means I'll aim for 31-60 new releases.

Sabrina Jeffries is my author of choice for this challenge. So far, I've finished 11 of her books. :) If you want in on this challenge, click the button for details.

I'm once again participating in the Reading Assignment Challenge hosted by Berls & Michelle @BecauseReading. I'm committing to reading 1 book a month. You can click the button above for details on the challenge. One of the *big* changes they made to the challenge this year is that you only have to create a list for January to June and then in June, create a list for July to December. Yay! Hopefully this will help me stick to my list. My first half of 2018 Reading List is:

The Bronze Horseman (The Bronze Horseman, #1)Finding It (Losing It, #3)Opposition (Lux, #5)Epilogue (The Dark Duet, #3)Steal the Day (Thieves, #2)The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13)

#COYER Winter Switch Kick-off Post ~ It Starts TODAY!!

As y'all know, #COYER is one of my favorite challenges because I just can't seem to clean off my ereaders. This winter challenge can be done the easy way or the hard way. *wink* You can click the graphic above (or here) to check out all the details. Once again, here are the basics:
  • The challenge begins December 16th at 12 a.m. EDT and ends March 9th at 11:59 p.m. EDT
  • You muts create a sign-up post anytime between now and January 20th on blog, Goodreads, Facebook, Google+, etc. Be sure to indicate if you're doing regular COYER or The Switch. Link you sign-up post to the linky here.
  • You can choose to do regular COYER - which is the same as The Strict - or COYER Switch.
  • Link your reviews to the linky that will be provided on the Kick-off Post.
  • There will be three grand prize winners - $10 gift card - one for the linky review list, and two for Switch participants.
***

As I said in my sign-up post, I'm going for The Switch - which means I'll be dividing my challenge into The Strict, The List, and The One with the Twist. Since lists seem to be challenging for me (mood reader, anyone?) I'm hitting that one first. So starting today and until January 12, here's the list of books I'm reading:

Shine (Mageri, #5)Finding It (Losing It, #3)Epilogue (The Dark Duet, #3)Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2)Taken by Storm (Raised by Wolves, #3)Sinner (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #4)Taming Cross (Love Inc., #2)Unmaking Marchant (Love Inc., #3)The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13)Golden Son (Red Rising, #2)Morning Star (Red Rising, #3)Mr. & Mrs. (Mister, #6)Anarchy Chained (SuperAlpha, #3)Turning Back (Turning #2)His Turn (Turning, #3)Opposition (Lux, #5)My Kind of Wonderful (Cedar Ridge, #2)Nobody But You (Cedar Ridge, #3)Masters Forever (Masters Saga, #3)End of Days (Penryn & the End of Days, #3)Past Imperfect (Perfect, #2)Shameless (White Lies Duet, #2)13 (Tallent & Lowery, #1)Accidentally on Purpose (Accidentally on Purpose, #1)Against the Wall (Maverick Montana, #1)Angelbound (Angelbound Origins #1)Angelfire (Dark Angel, #1)Archer's VoiceCaged (Caged, #1)Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1)

Once I've finished 5 from the list, I can change up 5 the list if I'm feeling the need. We'll see...

After the first phase, I'll hit The Twist (since it's restrictive in it's own way), and finally The Strict.

I hope y'all are sufficiently tempted enough to join in the fun!! Come on, you know you wanna! *wink*
