Fairy Tale in New York was a fairy tale - truly. It was sweet and magical...the perfect read to fill you with the holiday spirit!

I was thrilled to rejoin Jude and Carrie, whom I'd met in Spirits of Christmas, along with their baby, Maya. I'd been hoping Ms. Wells would continue their story and I'm thrilled she did.

When I first met Jude, he was learning the error of his ways. Now, just finishing a successful tour with his band, the Blood Roses, he and his girlfriend, Carrie, find themselves in New York waiting to go home for the holidays. Only while there, they find themselves in a position to offer a kind gesture to a stranger in need. It seems good fortune in that the stranger, a Mr. Whyte, has accommodations for them for the night. However, the next day, Christmas Eve, Mother Nature throws a monkey wrench into the plans with a snow storm that effectively shuts down New York.

What happens next, over the course, of two days, is heartwarming, fateful, and will renew your faith in humanity. The kindness and generosity shown to Jude, Carrie, and Maya, is endearing. And that Jude is humble enough to take it, and pay it forward, as it were, was lovely.

Fairy Tale in New York was such a charming read. It was uplifting and definitely put some holiday spirit in my soul.

Annabelle continues to impress me with her mettle. She is not meek. And her bond with Beast...

"I think sometimes you can know someone even though you haven't been around them very much. Certain souls, when they encounter one another, throw out anchors, and their ropes get tangled and the anchors get hooked all together in a messy barb. And it holds. It doesn't make sense, but it just holds."

it isn't going to allow her to stand by and let whatever will happen to him happen. Maybe, along with her feelings for him, Annabelle fights for him because it's something she can control? There are so many things in her life currently that she can't control, from her mother's illness or its impact on her little sister. With Beast, she can try.

Beast - it hurt to see him so defenseless, vulnerable, and beaten. That his captors would prey upon his nightmares the way they did was disgusting. They played upon his guilt and remorse making him more sick with guilt than he already was. At this point, just as with the night of the accident that began his nightmare, he needs his angel.

The new players introduced add another layer to the complexity of this story. I'm intrigued to see how the game will play out.

This last installment really had my adrenaline pumping. It was exciting as well as steamy. And although the ending was a tad predictable, the journey to that ending wasn't...at all.

Part Four finds Beast and Annabelle on the run. Beast is creating a plan to get them out of this predicament - one which he feels will protect Annabelle. That's important because he believes he's failed at that so far. Annabelle, although worried about her little sister and her mom, wants to protect Beast as well.

And so we follow along as they do what they can to avoid the police, try to put Beast's plan into action, and feed their passion for one another...a lot!

It really was an action-packed ending and I quite enjoyed it. I do wish we could have had a little more development with Annabelle's family - it would have give the story more emotional depth. But besides that and the ending, this was a great conclusion to this spin on my favorite fairytale.

I'm really digging these erotic re-tellings from Ms. James. I thought Red & Wolfe was great. But in Beast, she's upped the game.

I don't want to say much about what happens in this first installment because it would ruin the experience for you. But I will tell you, I was enthralled. I was shocked. I was titillated. I was tense. I was dismayed but never disgusted.

Beast grabbed me by the throat and didn't let go. I finished it in one sitting. I fell for both Annabelle and Beast quickly. Was it fate? Annabelle is smart, responsible, and loving. Beast is cunning, powerful, and set in his belief he can't be saved.

Ms. James packs quite a bit of story into this novella and has laid the perfect foundation for this modern spin on Beauty and the Beast. What do you believe in? Fate? Karma? Punishment? Compassion? I'm eager to see if Beast is beyond redemption, as he believes. Or if Annabelle can save him before it's too late.

Beast Part Two picks up right where Part One left off. Annabelle is spinning over what happened with Beast and over his proposal. And even more that that, she's spinning over her reaction to him and that proposal. As we see her struggle, we learn more about what it means to be Beast. Little hints are dropped about how he came to power at La Rosa. We also get a glimpse into what the accident and his time in prison has done to his psyche.

With this second installment, Ms. James gave me lots to ponder, and left me white-knuckling my kindle. The way she has allowed us into both Annabelle's and Beast's heads was great. Seeing Annabelle's family dynamics and the politics at the prison where Beast rules provided a lot of insight into them. And I delighted in the fact that the job Beast arranged for Annabelle included a library. ;)

I'm thoroughly enjoying this twist on Beauty and the Beast - and that's saying something since it's one of my favorite fairy tales. I'm so excited to see what direction Ms. James takes this story.

**#COYER Review ~ Red & Wolfe: Part 4 ~ Ella James**

This was a shocking yet excellent ending for this fairy tale retelling.

I love it when an author can keep me guessing. And I was not expecting Ella to take this story in this direction. Not only did the story take an unexpected direction but I was shocked at the ending! And I kinda pride myself on being able to figure things out. Nope - didn't see that coming. Of course, Ms. James may have clouded my vision with all those steamy scenes. ;)

In this final installment of Red & Wolfe, Red is put in danger, Wolfe reveals all his secrets, and their feelings for one another - the deep ones - are brought to light. The way things all went down was surprising and brilliant. Ms. James racheted up the tension with some intense action scenes interspersed with the intense, sexy scenes. I delighted in the reveal of informatoin and was still scratching my head about who was behind the threat to Red and Wolfe. I enjoyed the changes in Red and Wolfe, too - how they realized that the lives they'd been living were empty and that, despite the danger, they needed one another.

I so enjoyed this serial - and how it all come together. Ms. James is rocketing up my favorite authors list. I'm eager to dive into her next fairy tale retelling!

“You look nervous,” he says. His hand, still in my hair, turns to my cheek. It’s warm.
Smells good. “Come and sit down.” 

He takes my hand and leads me to a window seat. A built-in bench, pressed up against a wall of glass. He wraps his hands around my waist and lifts me up. Sits me down up there. My eyes scan the patchy, dirt-strewn yard outside. The way the rain smashes off the ground and into something else. The sky is white. Stark white. 

“Just a minute,” he says. 

My mind screams as he steps away. He reaches onto some shelves along the wall and grabs an armful of navy blue blankets. Painters’ blankets, I realize as he holds them out for me. He sits them on the bench beside me. Smooths one out. Lifts me up and sits me on it. Then he tucks another one behind me. 

“Thank you,” I murmur. Despite the blankets’ tattered appearance, they seem soft enough. There’s no paint on them, and they don’t smell like it. Another one unfolded by his big hands, tucked around me. 

“You got wet. Warm up a moment.” 

I sit there because my brain is broken and my heart feels puffed up like a balloon. 

He climbs up behind me and gently nudges me forward. He leans his torso up against mine, spreads his legs around my butt and thighs. Strong hands begin to knead my shoulders. 

“Don’t be nervous here, Angel. I’ll take care of you. Always.”

First of all, I have to admit to never having read Alice in Wonderland. *gasp* But I am familiar with the story and the characters. Despite not having read it, I quite enjoyed this twist on the original.

Mad Hatter is cursed and he must find his mate before the insanity of Wonderland consumes him. His fairy godmother, Danika, has been trying to find his mate but has been unsuccessful - until now. However, it remains to be seen if Hatter and Wonderland will accept her. Hatter has been burned too many times and he's jaded about love. He vows not to give the new Alice a chance. But she is different from all the others before her.

Alice has been in love with the Mad Hatter since she was 13. He appeared to her, spoke with her. Of course, no one believed Alice so she eventually stopped talking about him. But now she's ended up down the rabbit hole and according to Danika she has 3 days to make Hatter fall in love with her.

While I liked watching as Alice and Hatter got acquainted, I would've liked a little more depth. I know this is a novella but a little more in the way of character development would have enhanced the story. Also, I found myself having to really focus on Hatter's ramblings - trying to decipher his riddles. This slowed me down. I liked the world building a lot. Ms. Hall's description of Wonderland, the doors to anywhere, the changes made at Hatter's whim, were fascinating. And the romance between Alice and Hatter was sweet.

I found my introduction to Ms. Hall's Kingdom series pleasant. And I'm eager to read them all.
