Sidekick Saturday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jaclyn at JC's Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn't have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight that fits in this week's type
• Share a picture (if possible) and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don't include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick
• Put your link in the Linky thing and comment

This week, Jaclyn has chosen Weird as the theme. I had a hard time making a decision this week. I'm going with my first choice, but I'm gonna share my second choice with y'all as well. :)
My first choice for a Weird Sidekick is Alice Cullen, from Twilight. Alice is described as a pixie-like girl, tiny with tiny features. Her black hair is cut short with spikes going every which way. And she has her own well defined sense of fashion. ;) I always imagined Alice as flitting around, twinkling and tinkling, kinda like a fairy.
There are reasons for her weirdness, of course. She has visions of the future and because of this, Edward kept Alice and Bella apart for as long as he could. Alice has a habit of saying cryptic things and Edward didn't want Alice sharing any of her visions with Bella - particularly those of Edward and Bella. Alice is also different from her family in that she has no recollection of her time as a human. And she was able to find her conscience, as a vampire, on her own.
Quotes:
"You do smell nice, I never noticed before. "
"It sounded like you were having Bella for lunch, and we came to see if you would share."
"It's been almost a century that Edward's been along. Now he's found you. You can't see the changes that we see, we who have been with him for so long. Do you think any of us want to look into his eyes for the next hundred years if he loses you?"
"For everyone else, the pain of transformation is the sharpest memory they have of their human life. I remember nothing of being human."
"Some things are more certain than others...like the weather. People are harder. I only see the course they're on while they're on it. Once they change their minds - make a new decision, no matter how small - they whole future shifts."

My second choice for today is Anna Pierce from Robyn Jones' A Touched Girl series. I love, love Anna. She is different...weird...but in such a wonderful way. Anna hasn't spoken since she was five, when she was offered nightmare-free sleep in exchange for her silence. Her silence came with the added benefit of the ability to see a person's future potential. Add her odd habits of touching and twirling, and well... Then, after 12 years of silence, a traumatic experience brings major changes to Anna's life, including finding her voice.
I ended up going with Anna as my second choice solely because if I hadn't read Twilight, I wouldn't have started reading paranormals, and therefore, I wouldn't have found the treasure of Robyn's series!
