I read the first installment of Just One Night a year and a half ago and it has really stuck with me. You can read my review here. All this time later, Kasie and Robert's story was still in my head. I can't believe I waited so long to continue the story. On the bright side, the entire series is now available. :)

Exposed picks up where The Stranger left off - with Kasie dealing with the consequences of her betrayal. Dave, Kasie's fiance, is determined to have her revenge - and if I hadn't already despised him, he definitely would have sealed that perception with his behavior in Exposed. Robert, of course, is set on protecting Kasie - no matter what it takes. But Kasie is strong and insists on taking care of things her way.

When Robert crosses the line and takes care of a problem, Kasie is left wondering if she traded one controlling situation for another. Of course, with Robert, she can't seem to stay away.

I enjoyed this second portion of the story every bit as much as the first. Kasie meeting Robert awakened parts of her that she didn't know were there. Although it's terrifying for her, because of her sister's descent and death, Kasie has never felt so alive. And seeing her explore these new found parts of herself was heartening. And Robert *sigh* he could make me melt. I think he's found something in Kasie he didn't realize he was looking for. All because of just one night...

Oh, there's so much I want to say about A Little Faith. And yet there's so much I can't say because to do so would spoil the experience. This story begins with a shock...the tear your heart out kind of shock. I was immediately riveted.

This is such an original story. From its unique cast of characters, whom I'm already so invested in, the multiple POV narration, to the tragic incident that shaped them all into the people they've become - A Little Faith is fascinating. The story revolves around this group of guys that are so close, they're like brothers. And they've suffered this horrific event and it's brought them closer in some ways but divided them in others. And Faith is the person who keeps them together and can hopefully put them back together. We learn how the tragedy has affected them emotionally and physically...at least some of them. I think we've barely scratched the surface though.

I like the diversity of characters Ms. James incorporated. These guys and girls are not perfect - they have flaws and scars, both visible and not. And the event that rocked their world was so realistic...and their issues resulting from it are as well. It all felt so organic and true.

I really like how Ms. James tied together the act of having faith and the re-arrival of Faith into the guys' lives. Keanu, Levi, Retro, Harley, and Jase (Text) all took on roles in each others' lives and put up different kinds of walls to help them cope. And then there's Faith, who has also struggled to move forward. Now that she's on the path, she's on a mission to help all the guys heal and move on. At its heart, A Little Faith is a story of second chances, friendship, and healing.

Obviously, the emotions evoked are enormous. From the beginning shock to the ending, I was flipping through pages, anxious to see what was uncovered next. There are only a couple of things keeping this from being a 5 Bookworm read for me. First, I felt there were places where the prose didn't have enough variation in sentence length which made it choppy and interrupted the flow. And second, there were places where the detail, whether in prose or dialog, was repetitive. But the story itself was one I was so engrossed in. Overall, I'm so very impressed with Ms. James' debut. I'm kinda over the moon about it. And I can't wait until December, when I can get my hands on the next installment, Hope is Lost.

I'm really digging these erotic re-tellings from Ms. James. I thought Red & Wolfe was great. But in Beast, she's upped the game.

I don't want to say much about what happens in this first installment because it would ruin the experience for you. But I will tell you, I was enthralled. I was shocked. I was titillated. I was tense. I was dismayed but never disgusted.

Beast grabbed me by the throat and didn't let go. I finished it in one sitting. I fell for both Annabelle and Beast quickly. Was it fate? Annabelle is smart, responsible, and loving. Beast is cunning, powerful, and set in his belief he can't be saved.

Ms. James packs quite a bit of story into this novella and has laid the perfect foundation for this modern spin on Beauty and the Beast. What do you believe in? Fate? Karma? Punishment? Compassion? I'm eager to see if Beast is beyond redemption, as he believes. Or if Annabelle can save him before it's too late.

Beast Part Two picks up right where Part One left off. Annabelle is spinning over what happened with Beast and over his proposal. And even more that that, she's spinning over her reaction to him and that proposal. As we see her struggle, we learn more about what it means to be Beast. Little hints are dropped about how he came to power at La Rosa. We also get a glimpse into what the accident and his time in prison has done to his psyche.

With this second installment, Ms. James gave me lots to ponder, and left me white-knuckling my kindle. The way she has allowed us into both Annabelle's and Beast's heads was great. Seeing Annabelle's family dynamics and the politics at the prison where Beast rules provided a lot of insight into them. And I delighted in the fact that the job Beast arranged for Annabelle included a library. ;)

I'm thoroughly enjoying this twist on Beauty and the Beast - and that's saying something since it's one of my favorite fairy tales. I'm so excited to see what direction Ms. James takes this story.

Huss is a genius at throwing in plot twists and turning a story on its head. And that's exactly what happened in Block.

At the end of Like, Grace and Vaughn were in a good place. But then Vaughn, feeling a storm coming, makes some decisions that leave Grace reeling. And when the storm hits, Grace is rather heartbroken but decided. Things with Vaughn aren't going to go anywhere. Vaughn, however, is equally, if not more so, determined that things with Grace are going to move forward. And so there's a clash of words and bodies that leads to decisions being made and an even bigger media nightmare. Plus secrets being revealed.

I'm loving the irony that is Grace and Vaughn. Grace having been dreaming of Vaughn being everything she could want and then finding reality to be so far from the dream. And Vaughn has found exactly what he needs and never thought to dream of. Grace wants to stay strong and protect her heart. Vaughn seems to want to put his heart on the line but he doesn't know the rules. Grace is a private person, needing to keep her past hidden. Vaughn is a very public person whom the public believes they know well - but no one knows the real Vaughn...not even Vaughn. So in a way, this relationship has sparked so much personal discovery for them both. Vaughn wants to be open but Grace isn't sure she's ready to trust him with her life or her heart.

The plot twists, including an appearance by a character we've previously met, have me so very anxious for the next installment. If y'all haven't started this series yet, hop on it. It's fun but if you think you know what it's all about, you're probably wrong. It's such a good story - it's deep - with some sexy tweeting thrown in!
