**Blog Tour & Giveaway ~ Destiny Every-changing ~ Tasha Ivey**

Happy Friday, y'all! It my great pleasure to be a stop on the blog tour for Tasha Ivey's debut novel, Destiny Ever-changing. I read and reviewed DEC way back in February. :) If you missed my review, you can read it here. It's a very heartwarming read and I enjoyed it so very much. I also did a character interview with the two main characters, Laura and Brooks. It was a lot of fun and you get an idea of what life's life after the book ends. You can read that here. Today, I'm giving y'all an excerpt from the book from Brooks' POV. It's a great scene! ;) And I also have Brooks & Laura's Five Favorite Things. Oh, and there's a giveaway too! A fun-filled Friday - that's way I'm giving y'all! Enjoy!

About the Book

Some are destined for greatness . . . others for pure unadulterated misery.

After catching her boyfriend with another woman, Laura struggles with beginning again, knowing
deep down that she is destined to be unhappily out of love for her entire life. Needing some time to
recoup and formulate a game plan, she decides to visit her notoriously wise grandmother. But once
there, a curveball in the form of a deliciously attractive stranger has her falling again.

Brooks is another story altogether. He is quite content with his life until his father forces him into a
business decision that will ruin the rest of his life. As if his relationship with his father isn’t tumultuous
enough, his new fiancé is making every waking moment a living hell and loving every manipulative
minute of it.

When Laura stumbles upon her mother’s old journal, she opens a door into a long forgotten past. A
past that somehow leads both Laura and Brooks into unfamiliar territory and changes everything they
ever knew about fate.

Destiny is ever-changing, after all.

Excerpt - Brooks' POV

I never would have pegged Laura as the type of person that would get sheer enjoyment from holding me as her naked hostage. Quickly wading over to the bank, I grab my rumpled boxers and step into them—with my back to Laura, just in case—forcing myself to suppress the images of her staring at my backside. I must also mention that having an undergarment caked with wet sand on the inside is quite an undesirable feeling. At first, I don't know how to react to such an interesting turn of events, but I currently have only one reaction in mind . . . revenge.

Watching her walk ahead of me, I notice that her drenched khaki shorts and thin lavender t-shirt are clinging to her skin in a glorious way, accentuating her tapered waist and curvy hips. Her dripping hair is hanging in disheveled chestnut waves down to her midriff, and she doesn't seem at all concerned that her tresses are out of place. I love that about a woman. But more importantly, her unwavering confidence and witty charm are driving me wild.

After my strategy for vengeance is swiftly calculated, I execute my stealthy, surprise attack.  Sneaking up behind her, I scoop her into my arms and bound back into the water, taking her under with me. Shockingly, she doesn't go down without a fight, and we wrestle and splash until we both collapse onto the soft sand.

Rolling over on my right side to face her, I have to stifle a gasp because the tousled look that she sported earlier is much more prominent now: not even a trace of makeup, wild hair, and tiny water droplets clinging desperately to every visible inch of her light bronze skin. I have never seen a woman more stunning.

As fate would have it, I spot a minuscule white seashell in her hair next to her eye, so I inch closer. "Hold still," I say as I free her hair of the tiny hitchhiker.

Her glistening emerald eyes watch me intently—a look that I could only describe as adoration. No one has ever looked at me that way; no one has ever made me feel this way. Overcome with a desire to touch her, I take her hand and place it on my chest. That one simple touch is all it takes to send me into overdrive. My heart is about to explode from my chest, I don't feel like I can catch my breath, and I have fire coursing through my veins. I have always heard people describe "love" in this same manner, but is that even possible? As soon as that thought crosses my mind, my soaring exhilaration crashes and burns.

What am I doing?

About Tasha
Tasha Ivey is a literature fanatic, whose love for the written word fostered her development into the writer she has become. A lover of an extremely erratic mixture of literature, she has been influenced by authors from Jane Austen and E.M. Forster to Charlaine Harris and Alyson Noel. But her biggest influence and literary hero? Nicholas Sparks. Aside from writing, since she doesn’t have anything other than a shriveled up prune on the left side of her brain, she prefers to spend her time being creative in other ways like painting, cake decorating, and various types of crafts. That is, if the constant voices streaming through her head allow her to stop making up stories for a while. Lucky for her, she has a huge supportive family, including her amazing husband and two kids, who doesn’t complain too much when she hangs out with her characters more than she does with them. She is currently working on her second novel, Every Breath, which is due to release this year, and she also plans to start a sequel to her first novel, Destiny Ever-changing, this summer.
