My TBR List ~ May ~ What Should I Read Next?

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Michelle @Because Reading. I think it's a fabulous idea because it gets y'all in the game and it helps me knock off some of the many, many books on my TBR list. You're more than welcome to join in the fun! I've included the basic rules below but you can click on the graphic above to hop over to Michelle's site where you can find all the details.

Here's how it works:
On the first Saturday of each month, I will make a post with three books from my TBR List (these books can be already on your ereader or bookshelf OR books you might want to purchase) and add your link on the linky that will be provided on Michelle's post. Y'ALL will help me choose which book I will read next. The following Saturday, I will announce which book won. Then the last Saturday of the month, I'll post my review.

Fun, right?!?

This month, I'm having y'all pick from a few books I've one-clicked thanks to your recommendations! As I have many, many books thanks to you, my good blogging friends, I'll probably do this a few times throughout the rest of the year. This month's choices are thanks to: Naomi @Nomi's Paranormal Palace, Lexxie @Unconventional Bookviews, and Jennifer @Donnie Darko Girl.

Naomi's Rec:

Tattoo Thief (Tattoo Thief, #1)Tattoo Thief
Tattoo Thief #1

22-year-old Beryl doesn't know why Gavin Slater trashed his penthouse, abandoned his dog and fled the country. But as his house sitter, she must pick up the pieces for the front man of the white-hot rock band Tattoo Thief.

When ultra-responsible Beryl confronts the reckless rock star, she wants to konw more than just what to do with his mess. Why is he running? What's he searching for? And is he responsible for the death of his muse?

New York newbie Beryl must find her footing in Gavin's crazy world of ultra-wealthy to discover her own direction and what can bring him back.

Steamy, sassy and tender, Tattoo Thief is a story of breaking from a comfort zone to find a second chance.

Lexxie's Rec:

Dating a Cougar (Never Too Late, #1)Dating a Cougar
Never Too Late #1

After several decades of looking for true lover and never finding it, aging model and lingerie designer, Alexa Ranger, has finally give up the search. A couple of years ago, she got tired of the game completely and just stopped dating. Now friends and family keep her mostly content, so it's shocking at 50 yrs old to find herself suddenly wanting a sex life again. It's even more shocking to be attracted to a much younger man this time. She definitely thinks medically retired Marine, Casey Carter is sexy, but can't get passed their twelve year age difference to even consider a fling. Not that it matters anyway, anything resembling a normal dating relationship is totally out of the question because Casey is related to and living with her daughter's boyfriend. The very last thing Alexa needs is yet another talk-show worthy drama in her already complicated life, no matter how amazing Casey's kisses make her feel.

Jennifer's Rec:

The Stillness of the SkyThe Stillness of the Sky
Flipped Fairy Tales Series

Once upon a time, my life was certain: it was insignificant, and it was cruel. But I refused to let it define me, no matter how great the cost.

Once upon a time, I made a wish. The world I knew grew wider than the sky and higher than the stars, and I listened to the voice within me, reaching out for freedom.

Once upon a time, my wish became my fate, and my destiny the hardest lesson to learn: kindness may be the most difficult path, but it can save entire kingdoms.

Okay, those are the candidates. :) Now it's time to vote!

  1. Love the idea for choosing between recommendations! This month is the first time I'm taking part in this properly, but I might steal your idea in future!

  2. I actually voted for The Tattoo Thief, because I have that one as well - maybe we can buddy read this month, too? I do hope you'll get a chance to read Dating a Cougar soon, too, though, because that one is quite good :)
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend, Brandee!
I'll see you in 10 days!! *BIG HUGS*

  3. I voted for the cougar, I've got it - through Lexxie ! But Tattoo thief looks good too :)

  5. I haven't read any of theses books but I picked Tattoo Thief, probably because I'm a sucker for a hot cover.

  6. I like the look of The Stillness in The Sky, but on the other hand ... tattoo guy. Hm, tough choice, girlie :)

  7. I voted for How to Date a Cougar as it sounded interesting and I thought the cover was well done. I haven't heard fo any of these books before. I hope you'll enjoy whichever book wins.

I voted for The Stillness of the Sky, mainly because I am in a twisted fairytale reading mood. They all sounded good though.

  9. I voted early. Yay! Didn't we meet the author of Tattoo Thief? I should say "you meet" because I stood behind you while you talked to all the authors, but I smiled a lot. That counts. Happy reading Brandee!!!

Yes, Lexxie is dangerous for the one-click addict, isn't she?!? I think I'll enjoy whichever one ends up chosen. And then I'll just have to fit the 'losers' in soon. :)

  19. Bookworm BrandeeMay 5, 2015 at 9:19 PM

YES!! I'd love to buddy-read it, Lex. And if it doesn't win, let's do it anyway! :) Denise, my friend that you'll be meeting next week ;) read Dating a Cougar because of me, because of you. :) She really enjoyed it. I'm eager to read it myself.

  20. Bookworm BrandeeMay 5, 2015 at 9:19 PM

Feel free to 'steal' my idea, Laura. As I said, I'm sure I'll be doing it several times in the coming months. YOUR name is on the list!! :)

  21. I went with The Stillness of the Sky because it sounds like it has great potential. Hope you enjoy whichever one wins!

  22. Hehehe I feel no real remorse about that ;-)

  23. I know it's probably too late to vote, but I did anyways. Tattoo Thief looks good so I picked it. I was on vacation and missed voting :(
