Happy Friday and welcome to the Blog Hop!

Each week, two blogs are featured, one at AlisonCanRead and one at Parajunkee's View. So make sure to hop over to those blogs to check out this week's Features.

This week's Features are:
Fantasy is More Fun
Simply Sensational Book Fanatics
This week's question is:

What were some of your favorite picture books as a kid? If you have kids, what are some favorites you read to them?

Ah, picture books. I've gotta say, I love 'em! I don't really remember having any favorites as a child but I was an early reader, so... I loved reading them to my kids though. And now that they're too old for me to read to them, I sometimes peruse the children's section of my bookstore or library for old favorites and new ones, and read them to myself! ;)

A few favorites are:

The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry BearIf You Give a Mouse a Cookie133526

The Poky Little Puppy (Little Golden Book)StellalunaGiraffes Can't Dance

What about y'all? What are your favorites?

  4. I used to read Giraffes Can't Dance with a little girl I babysat. She loved it so much that we read it over and over and over and before I knew it, she was correcting my mistakes LOL. Hard to believe that was only like a year ago!

Thanks for stopping by. Old follower :-)

  10. Nice! Forgot about Stellaluna. That one just seems like a distant memory, not one that I owned, but I remember it being read to me at one point! Also remember Blueberries for Sal, vaguely at least. The cover sparks a memory!

  16. On the first day of preschool, John's teacher read If you give a mouse a cookie. All the kids were fidgety except for him. At the end he says, "I love that book!" So cute! I really love getting to read to the boys.

    1. That is too cute, Robyn! I really love all the books in this series. Truly, I adore picture books. When I was the children's dept mgr, I used to do story time twice a week. And I would go pick out like 15 books, sit down and read through them all so I could pick what I wanted to read for the month. It eased my heartache over not getting to read to my kiddos anymore. Luckily, even though Jax has been reading since he was 3, he (and the girls) would still let me read to them. Geronimo Stilton is a fantastic series! I bet your boys might like it too. And they're fun to read aloud. Sky was like 13 and would still stop in and listen to me read those books to Berk & Jax. :) *sniff* Where does the time go?!? :)

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend, Traci!

I remember Blueberries for Sal and of course The Poky Little Puppy. Classics! The other three look fun - I'll have to check those out. :D Thanks for stopping by My FF @ Donnie Darko Girl
