Synopsis
New York. A restaurant near Park Avenue. It’s early evening, and dusk is falling. So is the snow. Jude and Carrie are only killing time while they wait for their flight to London. They don’t know yet that their life will never be the same.

When rock star Jude gets stranded in New York with his family on Christmas Eve, he has no idea that he is setting in motion a chain of events that will turn their Christmas into the most magical one yet…

No good deed goes unpunished, or so it seems to Jude and Carrie on the morning of the twenty-fourth of December. The previous day, they gave up their London-bound flights to someone in crisis. And now, a spectacular whiteout is grounding all planes, and Jude, Carrie, and baby Maya are stuck far from home.

Tired, hungry, and just a little panicked, Jude loads his family into a cab and returns to their hotel. But there’s no room at the inn, and not even a platinum credit card will make a difference. Snow is falling heavily, and the family is facing a very bleak night indeed.

How do you celebrate Christmas with no place to stay, no food, and no presents? Join Jude, Carrie, Maya and a cast of colourful characters in this fairy tale story of Yuletide in New York.

Fairy Tale in New York is now available in Kindle and paperback editions from all Amazon domains, including: Amazon UK | Amazon

Fairy Tale in New York was a fairy tale - truly. It was sweet and magical...the perfect read to fill you with the holiday spirit!

I was thrilled to rejoin Jude and Carrie, whom I'd met in Spirits of Christmas, along with their baby, Maya. I'd been hoping Ms. Wells would continue their story and I'm thrilled she did.

When I first met Jude, he was learning the error of his ways. Now, just finishing a successful tour with his band, the Blood Roses, he and his girlfriend, Carrie, find themselves in New York waiting to go home for the holidays. Only while there, they find themselves in a position to offer a kind gesture to a stranger in need. It seems good fortune in that the stranger, a Mr. Whyte, has accommodations for them for the night. However, the next day, Christmas Eve, Mother Nature throws a monkey wrench into the plans with a snow storm that effectively shuts down New York.

What happens next, over the course, of two days, is heartwarming, fateful, and will renew your faith in humanity. The kindness and generosity shown to Jude, Carrie, and Maya, is endearing. And that Jude is humble enough to take it, and pay it forward, as it were, was lovely.

Fairy Tale in New York was such a charming read. It was uplifting and definitely put some holiday spirit in my soul.

  1. I'm not quite ready to be filled with Christmas spirit, although it snowed last night, and STAYED, so I'm getting there. LOL I'll add this one, the free novella, and Fallen For Rock to my holiday reading list for when I need to ignore my in-laws. This story sounds cute; I would have associated fairy tales with New York, but it seems to work for Nicky Wells!

  2. Fairy Tale in New York sounds positively yummy, Brandee! You know I love rockstars, and when they have a soft side, and love their family, it's even better. I will certainly get my hand on the freebie. *sighs* My kindle will soon burst, you know - with all the unread books I have on it.
I'm glad the road wasn't too bad yesterday, even if it took you a long time to get to work. I hope you're enjoying that fireplace and some good stories today! Have a terrific Thursday. *BIG HUGS*

  5. Hi Lexxie, ooooh we have that in common. I LOVE my rock stars. Always have done, always will, that's why I write about them. Golden-voice bad boys with a magical stage presence and a secret soft heart... Unfortunately, the free period for Spirits of Christmas has just closed---I'm so sorry about that! But both stories are novellas and I think you'll find they won't even cost as much as a cuppa from Starbucks. Happy reading if you do pick one or both up, and I'd love to hear what you think! XXX

  6. Carmel, you have snow? I am sooooo jealous! We never get enough of the white stuff here in the UK, which is why I went all out on the snowstorm in NYC. I sincerely hope my novels will help you get the breathing space you need when the in-laws get too much (weird, how that happens, right)? Sadly the free period for Spirits of Christmas has just come to an end, but I think--I hope--you won't it won't break the bank even at normal price. Happy reading if you do pick up a copy, and all the best for a happy Christmas season when you're ready for it. XX

  16. *haha* I know Carmel - I'm not usually ready at this point either. I have my one of my daughters' birthdays to get past before I typically start thinking about Christmas. BUT this novella sure infused me with the spirit. And that's a good thing since I work retail during the holidays. :) (btw, I love that you're gonna read when you need to ignore your in-laws!)

  19. Hi Naomi! Ah, a kindred spirit. I love my rock stars!! Although this book is less about a rock star on tour than about a rock star on holiday, LOL. And yes, I thought I'd bring the family together! I had a go at a rock-star-esque family in one of my earlier books and it was well received. This one... well, let's just say I let my hair down. Happy reading if you pick up a copy!! I'd love to hear what you think. Keep on rocking, Naomi!
